  • Cholesterol
  • Urine Drug Screen
  • HIV (including counselling)
  • Cotinine
  • Blood Group

Results may be picked up in person or if pre-arranged results will be emailed.

A self-referral form should be completed at the PathCare Vermaak service depot, providing your email address.

Blood tests and other pathology investigations are usually performed upon receipt of a written request by a referring clinical doctor.

If the doctor has obtained the samples him/herself, the blood samples will accompany the written request.

Alternatively, your doctor will refer you to one of the service depots of PathCare Vermaak, where one of our phlebotomy staff will obtain the required samples.

A valid referral note from your doctor is essential to enable the practice to claim the account for services delivered directly from your medical scheme.

Self-Referral Tests Payments / Medical Scheme Requirements

Self-referrals for a limited number of investigations are accepted, however, self-referrals have to be paid with sample collection because PathCare Vermaak cannot claim payment for these services directly from your medical scheme.

If you are entitled to reimbursement from your medical scheme for self-referrals, you have to submit your claim to your medical scheme.
